Katrina Moore, M.Ed.
Katrina serves as a campus resource educating the Tufts community on emerging issues regarding students of African descent. She is responsible for establishing the Africana Center's vision that encourages the academic, cultural, and social development of Tufts students and promotes the development of an intellectually affirming and culturally diverse college experience. She tirelessly advocates on behalf of students who face intolerance and/or discrimination and works with students to develop campus wide programming and partnerships with community members across all campuses with great care and energy. And, working with the Africana Advisory Alliance, she works closely with student leaders and student organizations to develop effective programs and initiatives to enhance their co-curricular experience and build leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
A sought-after campus leader and coalition builder, Katrina participates in committee assignments, on both the Medford campus and the broader Tufts community and works collaboratively on the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Celebration committee, Bridging Differences committee and serves as co-chair of the Black Faculty & Staff Employee Resource Group. She was a co-creator of the Leading While Black at Tufts university-wide project that honored eight luminaries who transformed governance, advanced equity, traversed boundaries and enhanced the flourishing of generations of students, faculty and staff and culminated in the installation of an exhibit in Tisch library.
As a member of the Division of Student Diversity and Inclusion, Katrina was a recipient of a 2022 Distinction Award for the team’s work that embodies leadership, innovation, customer service, integrity, collaboration, and respect for diverse perspectives, and inclusion.
Katrina received her BA and M.Ed. degrees from North Carolina Central University in Durham North Carolina.
