In Building a Poetic Life, Precious Musa will lead participants in encountering poetry as an artistic form that transcends the page and can serve as the foundation for inward-facing revolution and liberation. We’ll discuss and learn from poets and writers such as June Jordan, Lucille Clifton, Octavia Butler, and James Baldwin as we answer the question, “what is a poetic life?” The workshop will include writing exercises, culminating with the drafting of full poems and an opportunity to share them.
